Q: How many calories are burned per class?
A: This all depends on the individual and the amount of exertion used. Indoor cyclists can burn from 400-800 calories in a 50 to 55 minute workout such as our classes.
Q: What are the fitness benefits?
A: Per the U.S. Department of Health “…..regular physical activity substantially reduces the risk of coronary disease, stroke, colon cancer, diabetes and high blood pressure…..and helps to control weight, contributes to healthy bones, muscles and joints….reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression…” Need we go on? Cycling is also “low-impact” without the joint stress that you get from “ground-pounding” sports and activities.
Q. Where should I park
A. There is ample parking on the streets. Please pay attention to the signs though because there are some spots on the street that do not allow SUV’s or mini vans.
Q: Bikes and shoes?
A: We have Schwinn IC Pro indoor bikes that are in excellent condition. Sneakers are fine but “clip-in” cycling shoes offer a more stable position in the pedals. All our bikes accept SPD cleats and some also accept LOOK. Green Bay Cycle in Hubbard Woods will give a 10% discount on cycling shoes when you mention Spynergy!
Q. Should I bring my own towel and water?
A. Spynergy provides towels and we have water cooler to fill up your own water bottle.
Q: Is there anyway to make the seat more comfortable?
A: As a beginner, the seat and the bike in general require a little getting used to. Padded bike shorts are a huge help, and some like a cushioned gel seat (we have several in the studio). After a few classes, seat discomfort simply goes away.
Q. Do you have showers and/or a changing areas.
A. There are two bathrooms as Spynergy and one of them has a shower for anyone to use.
